Spiritual Community
Guided by Scripture and the Holy Spirit in everything we do.
Potomac Presbyterian Church is a welcoming and open church that encourages people to grow in their faith. We are a community built on connection, and we would love for you to be part of it.
Why we gather.
Love God, love others, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
We are called to care for creation and to recognize everyone we meet as a beloved child of God. These seven values guide how we live that out, together.
Above all else, we are commanded to love God and to love one another, the heart of Jesus’ greatest commandments.
Weekly worship that meets people where they are and draws us closer to God.
We serve our community through physical and spiritual acts of love and kindness.
Intellectually stimulating classes for all ages that challenge minds and grow hearts.
Protecting and restoring the earth is part of our calling as stewards of creation.
We are wise stewards of the resources entrusted to us, for our church and our community.
We foster unity in diversity, standing together as one church family.
We are devoted to worship that stirs the soul, education that engages the mind, and service that sends us into the world, all held together by these four kinds of community.

Guided by Scripture and the Holy Spirit in everything we do.

A safe harbor for all of God’s children, at every stage of life.

Exploring together how to be faithful in our everyday lives.

Learning from God’s children of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest among us.
We are Presbyterians, and here is a short, honest account of what that means to us.
God exists in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in perfect harmony with one another.
Sixty six books, thirty nine in the Old Testament and twenty seven in the New, telling the story of humanity’s faith. We look to it to understand how God has been present with humanity.
The Son of God and the central figure of our faith. His teachings on love, forgiveness, and repentance are at the heart of what we believe, and his resurrection promises eternal life.
God offers salvation through grace. It is not a right or a privilege to be earned, and we depend entirely on God’s goodness and mercy.
Practiced at any age, with infant baptism common among us. It carries the meaning of dying and rising with Jesus Christ, and of being welcomed into the body of Christ.
Open to all. We practice intinction, dipping the bread in the cup, and gluten free options are always available.
The giver and renewer of life, who justifies us through faith, binds us together as believers, and empowers us for service.
There is a seat with your name on it, and people who want to meet you.
